VIVA PRESENTATION

About the viva presentation that already done recently, it give new experience to the students where they need to present their critical review of one article from the first task. As for me, I chose article 'The Value of Television by Paul Robinson as my viva presentation. During the presentation, each of student only need to explain 6 ELEMENTS from the rules of 10 which are TOPIC, PURPOSE, PERSPECTIVE, POSITIONING, IMPACT AND VISUAL LITERACY. After finish presentation, there will be Q&A session where the presenter will be ask the question by the PENALLIST. They have to defend themselves and its like a debate when the panelist try to change the view about their point.

For me, the best presenter is ZAIDI from group 5, he manage to deliver her point well. He also come out with a good point and also examples. All his point is make sense and the audience interested to watch his presentation. He is a good presenter among all the presenter during the viva presentation.

Then, FITRI from the group 2 also is a best presenter because he has a good explanation on his points especially when he present about Jews. He stick with his point although some of the penallist condemn his view. His explanation is clear and have a good examples.

opinion on JULIUS CAESAR-POEM BY MARK ANTHONY

Marcus Brutus is Caesar's close friend and a Roman praetor. Brutus allows himself to b joining a group of conspiring senators because of a growing suspicion by Caius Cassius that Caesar intends to turn republican Rome into a monarchy under his own rule.
Brutus is motivated by the demands of honour and patriotism. One of the central strengths of the play is that it resists categorizing its characters as either simple heroes . Brutus had an arguments with Cassius and struggle with his own conscience.

OPINION AND EFFECT OF JEWISH TO THE PALESTINIAN

PALESTINIAN PEOPLE BECOME NOT PEACEFUL ANYMORE ALTHOUGH  IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY BECAUSE DAY BY DAY, JEWISH BECOME MORE CRUEL TOWARDS THEM ESPECIALLY TO WOMAN AND OLD MAN. THEY ALSO DID NOT GET PROPER EDUCATION, NUTRITIONS AND ALSO PROTECTIONS. JEWISH DID NOT GIVE ANY OPPORTUNITY FOR THEM TO GET THE BETTER LIFE IN THEIR OWN LAND BECAUSE THEY HATE MUSLIM AND ISLAM, SO THEY WANT TO SEE THEM WEAK IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES. BESIDES THAT, PALESTINIAN ALSO CAN NOT DO ANYTHING TO PROTECT THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY HAVE ANY WEAPON THAT CAN BEAT WITH THE POWERFUL WEAPON OF JEWISH. THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE ONLY CAN SEE AND CRY WHEN THE JEWISH KILL THEIR FAMILY.

opinion on Islamophobia

Regarding the video about the ISLAMOPHOBIA , they mention about ground zero mosque. in my opinion, It is very easy for the THE JEWS to think they could lead on this issue. supposedly, the more intelligent people SHOULD win this argument. Not everyone who is Muslim is a close-minded extremist. Many of them are very intelligent, well-educated people who understand that the extremists within their own religion hurt their own people and culture. therefore the mosque and cultural center will be located two blocks away in a building that has been abandoned and NOT occupied. so, term of ISLAMOPHOBIA is like a bias to a MUSLIM and their RELIGIOUS itself. it is because, through my reading from one article, it stated that the existence of Mosque near ground zero is idea of Jews and they collaborate with some MUSLIM that being force by the Jews to follow their order. it is very unfair to MUSLIM, because they always being discriminated by the Jews that are very selfish. It is very regretful to know about those things.

EUPHEMISTIC LANGUAGE

According to NOAM CHOMSKY, EUPHEMISM is less offensive synonym which a word or phrase used in place of a term that might be considered too direct, harsh ,unpleasant or offensive. It is because, words have negative and positive connotation the most important things about the usage of euphemistic is 'THE WORDS CHANGE, BUT THE MEANING STAY THE SAME'

EXAMPLES OF EUPHEMISTIC LANGUAGE ARE :

toilet :ladies/gents
old people :senior citizen
moron :mental age
preschool :primary school
fat :chubby,cute
thin :slim, slender, model cutting
bitch :evening lady

SYLLOGISM

:: SYLLOGISM is a new term that I heard and If found it as very interesting things to learn because sometimes it makes us confuse when we need to come out with TWO STATEMENT about certain subject that we want to discuss, then after that we have to find ONE CONCLUSION which reflect those two statement.

formula :
  • If A is true then B is true (If A then B).
  • If A is in C then B is in C.
  • If A is true, then B is false (A or B).

example :

a) An honorable man (never tell lies)
Brutus never tell lies,
Therefore Brutus is an honorable man.

FIRST ASSIGNMENT (CRITICAL REVIEW OF 4 ARTICLE)

OPINION TOWARD FIRST ASSIGNMENT

:: For the first task which we are assign to make a CRITICAL REVIEW based on THE RULES OF 10 that we learnt. There are FOUR ARTICLE that we need to do which each of the article are quite easy to understand but when it comes to elaborate the critical review, i found some problem especially in PERCEPTIVE & POSITIONING PART because it makes me confuse although the lecturer already consult us. Then, for VISUAL LITERACY PART, its also quite hard to explain because the picture is too simple but we need to think critically why the picture is like that and relate with the caption given. lastly, for overall critical review that i already made, i quite satisfied with my work because i take too long period time which is almost 3 weeks to completely finish the assignment before submit it. for the first time, i manage to avoid procrastinate my work and it really work ! I have plenty of time to check it and i admit that CRITICAL REVIEW is can not be done in last minute . Thanks to Mr. Kamaraziz by giving us good consultations about the task.

THE FOUR ARTICLE ARE :

:: THE INFLUENCE OF HEREDITY ON MALAY RACE By: MAHATHIR MOHAMAD, MD

:: THE JEWS AND THEIR DECEITS BY: ADOLF HITLER

:: THE VALUE OF TELEVISION BY: PAUL ROBINSON

:: WHAT STEVE JOB REALLY MEAN TO SAY BY: KUMI NAIDO

ANIMAL FARM (movie)

Animal farm is a story about group of animals that lead by the young pig. at first, they lead by the kind pig which is Snow Ball . During Snow Ball become a leader, their life are great because they learn new things from him for example he teach the animals reading and writing; food is plentiful; and the farm runs smoothly. they also know about 7 COMENMENCE OF ANIMALISM that the most important of it is, "all the animal are equal" and it was agreed by the others animal.

However, when Snow Ball was died, Napolean become a leader and he is too selfish because he do anything to help the human and he will get many benefits from it.Therefore he also change the comemmence of animalism into his version that very unfair to others animals.

As a conclusion, this movie have some moral value that also happens among our societies nowadays because its about how the leader care of their people. They should always be fair and think of other opinion like Snow Ball did and what had Napolean did should not be practice by other leader because it could lead to chaos in the country like what happened in US.

premise 2- they willing to cheat and tell a lies whenever to make people follow their order.

d) Being bias toward Islam
premise 1- they being cruel to Islam when they killed many innocent people in Palestine.
premise 2- blame all their problems to the Muslims in order to change negative perception about them

JEWISH PEOPLE

OPINION TOWARDS JEWISH

:: when we mention about JEWISH, automaticallywe will remember ISRAEL and all their CRUELNESS. but they act like that because they need to take back his motherland. they also never think that what had they done is very cruel especially to Muslim. Then, they also too obsessed with power because they willing to do anything to be most powerful in the world.

Lastly, they should not being too selfish because it will lead to unbalanced society in this world when they only protect the Jewish people but for the other religion especially ISLAM being oppress by them until today.

It is because, it can give some strength to us to build up our spirit. from his speech, he do mentioned about his obstacles and how he manage to settle all his problems and become successful person . Besides that, he also very courage person and he only do whatever he want and he will stop what he never interested to do. SOCRATES

Socrates is one of the famous philosopher that known as the founder of critical thinking. He had travel to Athens to teach people on how to think but never take any money from them. Through his travels, he got so many experiences about how people answer his question with critical thinking. Unfortunately, there are also Athenians who did not like his activities that allegedly can influence others young men into the bad activities from his way of thinking. There are too many obstacles that he had to face until he sentenced to death. After he dead, one of his students did write a story about him in a book since Socrates himself never wrote anything about his lifestyle or ideas.

As a conclusion, Socrates is courage man because he never gives up of anything that will make him falling down. Then, he also can known as genius because he always think of anything that out box using his critical thinking.

SUPERSTITIONS

5 example

:: Umbrellas inside the house - you will drown the next time you swim; or, opening an umbrella indoors will bring you bad luck .

:: When you are getting married, do not wear your wedding gown before the wedding or else your wedding will canceled.

:: No reds allowed - Don't wear red when there's lightning, or else it may strike you.

:: Don't go to sleep at night with wet hair or else snakes will sleep with you.

:: If you are pregnant, eat bananas so that you can have twin.

why people believe these superstitions?

-Those are some superstitions that come from several cultural . People nowadays believe these because these superstitions are already practice by our previous great grandfather. It was really close to us,sometimes it just to make us beware and alert with what happened surrounding us. it was not compulsory to us to believe all these kind of superstitions because it just a reminder for us.

opinion towards these issue?

- This issue quite interesting and familiar among us. Not only Malay, but Chinese ,India or others cultures also practice their own kind of superstitions. Sometimes its sound nonsense but actually it also give us a good sign in order to do something that relates with nature. For example, in a Malay culture, we are advise not to give money to other people at night because it many of Malay people believe that we will get many loss if cash out some money at night. So, for me, there is no right or wrong if we believe or not about the superstitions but it is about how we alert on something that happens around us and think of its good or bad.
